Welcome 2012! I am grateful for the New Year which is bringing many new beginnings for me. I have an ongoing list, a bucket list if you will, and I have already been able to cross one thing off my list. I took the leap, or better to say ascent, and went up in a balloon! Up, up, and away….well not exactly away since the balloon is lifted by helium, not hot air and it levels out at 400 feet high but still tethered to the ground.
As a Massage Therapist, I am constantly learning of new things from my clients and this one was a hit! Thank you to Laura for the recommendation for free things to do in Orange County. The Great Park in Irvine features free balloon and carousel rides(check their website for special events that might have a fee on certain days). I haven’t been on a carousel in forever and of course I eagerly jumped in line for a ride! We lucked out because there was no line for the carousel ride and it helped to pass the time as we waited for our turn to go up in the balloon. They also have farming exhibits and an art gallery within easy walking distance of the balloon. Here is a pointer, check the website first for the hours of the balloon rides AND go check in and get on the list for the balloon ride as soon as you arrive at the park.
